ABSA in Lockdown
With the rise in Covid-19 in our city & country, all
educational institutions were closed for quite some time. Majority of the
school & colleges conducted online classes for their student, however, ABSA was unable to do so as most of our students do not have computers or WiFi connections.
They were given home work from time to time by the teachers.
During the lockdown, staff salaries were paid in full & on
time. No employee was asked to leave.
We at ABSA are very particular in maintaining all the SOPs.
All the staff member have been vaccinated.

ABSA’s Students in Arts Council:
ABSA has sponsored their very talented graduates to study at the Arts Council. At present, 4 students of ABSA are studying in Arts Council Institute of Arts & Crafts (ACIAC).
Implementation of SOPs:
Everyone must realise that Standard Operating Procedures
(SOP) is the only way to tackle the deadly virus.The safety of students and
staff is number one priority of ABSA.
In this regard, ABSA sets (SOPs) for the students ,
school staff and parents. All important precautions including disinfectant in
the classes, mask and social distancing are strictly implemented in the
premises of ABSA.
Free of cost distribution of Hearing Aids:
Every year several hearing aids are distributed among students by ABSA. These hearing aids have been donated by different organisations and individuals.
Before distributing hearing aids, proper hearing tests
are taken by experts of ABSA Audiology department as they are given only to
those students who can benefit from them.
Learn To Learn School visits ABSA:
Learn To Learn School visits ABSA with 15 students and 2 staff members. They spent lot of time with the students and appreciate the efforts and discipline. They also played volley ball with the college students.
Art Festival at Governor House
The Governor’s House in Karachi, Sindh hosted and art festival in January 2020 for the Deaf. ABSA School for deaf along with ABSA College for deaf both of which are non-government organization in Pakistan was invited to showcase their talents for which they were appreciated and recognized. The Governor’s House appreciated and encouraged the nurturing of gifts coming from all walks of life.
EVENTS OF THE YEAR 2019
ROTMUN Academic Conference
9 students and a teacher of ABSA attended a 3 day academic conference at IBA- Karachi. The conference was organized by Rotaract Model United Nations (ROTMUN). The basic purpose of the conference was specifically to form a committee for the deaf students where they were given the opportunity to express themselves, discover the process of Model United Nations and become better informed global citizens.
Training Workshop with NOWPDP
With the collaboration of NOWPDP, 2 programs of 4 months Textile designing was arranged at ABSA, in which total 36 students participated. Another 2 days Vocational training workshop on Electrician & Plumbing works was also arranged for the hearing impaired male teachers and boys of secondary classes.
