• The school was established in 1967.
• Was upgraded to Intermediate level in the year 2000.
• Degree classes were started in the session 2005-2006.
• The institution now provides education from Nursery to B.A. level
• Students sit in the Matriculation Examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Karachi for special children.
• Students sit in Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi for special children.
• Students sit in B.A. examination conducted by University of Karachi for special children.
• Vocational training is provided in Computers, Fine Art, Tailoring and Embroidery.
• Students take part in Art Competitions and win prizes.
• Students take part in sports organized by the City Government.
• Taekwondo classes are held regularly.
• Students are encouraged to take part in cultural activities.
• School arranges field trips to Factories, Parks, Mazar-e-Quaid, Zoological Gardens, Railway Station, Museums, Radio Pakistan, Fire Brigade Station, for educational purposes.
• Annual Sports are held regularly.
• Students participate in different activities with hearing schools such as English & Urdu essay competition, poster competition held by Board of Secondary Education.
• The mode of instruction is through total communication, in which sign language is the major component together with lip reading and speech. Students are taught languages (Urdu, English), Mathematics, Science, Health & Physical Education, Computer, Pakistan Studies and Islamiat, social studies, general knowledge, art, embroidery and tailoring.
• Teachers regularly attend courses and workshops to keep abreast of the latest innovations and trends in the field of education. In addition they also attend  sign language classes to improve their communication skills. Parents are encouraged to have as much contact as possible with the school. It is important for families and the institution to work together towards a common goal. It is also compulsory for parents (up to class II) to take sign language classes once a week in order to be able to communicate with their children.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

Admission to all levels is subject to seat availability. All applicants are required to sit for an admission test/interview.

The admission process starts at the beginning of January each year.

Application Forms

To attain the application form, the child must accompany the parents and provide the following documents.

• Original Birth Certificate as well as a photocopy or Form B
• Hearing Test Report
• Original Disability Certificate and a photocopy.
• 4 passport-size photographs of the applicant.
• Photocopy of Parents’ CNIC.
• School Leaving Certificate from the previous school. (Not applicable for pre-primary)
• Progress Report Card from the previous class issued by the last school attended. (Not applicable for pre-primary)

Upon submission, applicants are given an admit card, a copy of the syllabus, and admission test date and time.

Age Criteria:

            Class-IV                       9-10 years

Over Age:

A special batch starts every year for those hearing impaired students who have crossed the age limit for admission in the primary class. After 1 year of studying, they are transferred to their age appropriate classes.

The maximum age limit for this group is 12 years.

In all cases, merit is the sole criterion for admission. The decision of the school cannot be challenged in any way and will be final.
